INTRODUCTION

The Rushlight Clean Technologies Show 2011 is being prepared.  It will take place during the last week in January 2011 in London and will follow a similar format as the 2010 event, bringing together new and leading edge cleantech products and solutions, investors and major customers.  A new venue is being arranged and the agenda will follow.  In the meantime, the details about the 2010 event continue to be available on this site, including the overview set out below:

The Rushlight Clean Technologies Show took place on 28 January 2010 at the Royal National Hotel, London.  It was a new event designed to be of substantial value and interest to:

  •  organisations that are developing clean technologies
  •  firms advising such organisations
  •  investors in clean technologies
  •  and companies that follow and are looking to adopt clean technologies.

It was the only event in the UK and Ireland that showcases the best of our new energy, waste, water and environmental solutions for our future low resource society and brought together investors, customers and advisers with the clean technology companies themselves.

This event included the following main attractions:

The Rushlight Clean Technologies Show, where, amongst others, current entrants and past successful entrants to the Rushlight Awards  displayed their technologies.

The Rushlight Cleantech Funding Solutions Conference during the afternoon, with 3 keynote speeches and a raft of funding solutions for pre and post revenue cleantech developers, equity valley-of-death-trapped organisations and early-stage deployment companies.

Workshops throughout the morning aimed to inform cleantech companies at all stages of growth, including grants, winning public sector work, financial and other communications, IP management, investor readiness, overseas expansion, regional benefits, business growth advice and R&D tax credits.  There were talks given by the Carbon Trust, the Technology Strategy Board, the EPSRC, UK Trade & Investment, the Energy Technologies Institute, Isle of Man DTI, Wither & Rogers, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PNO Consultants, Supply London, Orion Innovations and Abchurch Communications.

Workshops throughout the afternoon for clean technology adopters, summarised the development of technologies and deployment issues in renewable energy, energy efficiency and waste.   Talks were given by AEA, Utilyx Development Services and ADIAN Consulting.

Non-stakeholder funding centre, where grant and other funders of research and development had stands to be on hand to answer your particular questions.  Participants included the Carbon Trust, the Technology Strategy Board, the Energy Technologies Institute, EPSRC, Business Link, London Innovation Network and the Isle of Man DTI.

Equity investors centre, where a range of active cleantech investing VCs and others had stands to be on hand to answer your particular questions.

Customer centre, where major energy and other resource users and managers who were looking to adopt clean technology solutions were available and keen to meet companies with innovative solutions to their CRC, fossil-fuel reliance, water, environment and waste challenges.  Organisations such as BAA, North London Waste Authority, Lovell & Partners, Royal Mail, Network Rail and McDonalds UK attended.

This event was designed to be flexible, so that delegates and other attendees could dip in and out of the event to suit their needs.  That is why we chose a central London venue, close to transport hubs, the investing community and a number of major resource users' offices.
